Baby Chick Appliqué Coverlet – Digital Download

This precious project features ultra soft puffy appliquéd chicks delicately arranged around the edges of this sweet coverlet. This lovely technique involves making little machine stitched and stuffed appliqués of soft stretch terrycloth which are hand appliquéd onto the base fabric, then embroidered with imported wool embroidery. Wool is lovely and soft and perfect for this application, as it wears well and works up quickly. The base of the coverlet is made of pretty imported silky cotton sateen, quilted by hand in the tradition of Sashiko1, then further embellished with sweet wool embroidery. The lovely coverlet is interlined with soft flannel fabric and bordered with a large scalloped flange. You will love making this precious coverlet during this 2-day lesson. A sewing machine is required for only a short time, so sharing is a possibility.
