Dew Drops is a gorgeous whitework embroidered christening gown, slip and bonnet ensemble. The tee-style yoke of the gown is attached with entredeux and is further enhanced by an attached shaped collar of contrast fabric. The three-quarter length sleeves feature contrasting cuffs edged with mini buttonhole scalloping and gathered lace edging and are set in with entredeux. The front of the gown features an elaborately embroidered leaf and bud motif with bumblebee and berries. The collar, which is also embroidered, features buttonhole scalloping with gathered lace edging. Underarm tucks add fullness to the skirt which is edged in intricately shaped buttonhole edging and gathered lace edging. The dress buttons at the back and an optional belt is attached at the sides.
The traditional style bonnet features a shaped contrasting brim and is embroidered with matching bud, bee and leaf motif. The crown is slightly gathered to a round crown tip, embroidered with a single bumblebee motif. The brim is adorned with gathered lace edging, and then attaches to the lined bonnet with covered piping.
The Gertrude-style slip features tabbed shoulder openings and full, A-line shape. Folded tucks add fullness beneath the arms and the neck and armhole edges are finished with hand buttonhole scalloping. The hem is finished with flat lace edging, attached by machine with Point de Paris (Parisian, pin stitch) function. All embroidery templates are included, except the personalization on the slip front.
